- adhérer à un syndicat — to join a union [Common Phrase]Il a adhéré à un syndicat pour défendre ses droits. — He joined a union to defend his rights.
- appeler à la grève — to call for a strike [Common Phrase]Le syndicat a appelé à la grève. — The union called for a strike.
